Jay Manuel is an educator, writer, and curriculum developer whose work bridges academia, non-profit organizations, and government. He teaches and writes on philosophy of education, attentional literacy, and ethics, and is the author of the forthcoming book Attention as Resistance: Reimagining Learning for a Connected World. Alongside his academic work, he has developed training for settlement case managers, coordinated community literacy initiatives, and mentored newcomers and youth. He is also a judge for Ethics Bowl Canada and an advocate for philosophy for children and critical thinking in schools and communities. His translations, short stories, and essays reflect a long-standing interest in literature and philosophy.
