Taya graduated from Simon Fraser University with a BA, studying philosophy, sustainable community development and international relations. She was introduced to Philosophy for Children through Dr. Susan Gardner, and through her years working at the Thinking Playground has developed her passion for working with children and especially teaching philosophy!<\/p>\n

Taya works in the non-profit sector and engages in international aid work, focusing on social causes such as gender equality and cultural exchange. She also works in experiential and outdoor education, developing a variety of educational programs for students of all ages.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Taya brings her desire for justice and equity into her facilitation, fostering a safe, exciting and stimulating learning environment. With a background in yoga and mindfulness, she approaches teaching children with compassion, joy and creativity.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Taya has fallen in love with the community and learning environment of P4C and the Thinking Playground and is thrilled to be a member of such a wonderful organization. As an associate director of VIP4C, she has spent over five years collaborating with her colleagues to create the curriculum and core philosophy of the Thinking Playground camps.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He is currently studying Cognitive Systems at UBC. Cognitive Systems is a program that mixes Philosophy, Psychology, Linguistics and Computer Science to understand the mind in hopes of developing new robotics and therapeutic techniques to improve people's lives.\r\n\r\nBeing involved and working on campus has been a large part of his life and he has been active on student council at CapU (Food and Beverage Student Rep.) encouraging healthy foods and fair trade. At UBC he was on his campus residence council and was responsible for community building and event planning.
