She has taught critical thinking to hundreds of\u00a0university students and co-authored a textbook on reasoning called Think it Through: Reasoning in\u00a0Everyday Life (Nelson, 2006).<\/p>\n<p>Anastasia learned to appreciate children\u2019s ability to think deeply and to ask important, challenging\u00a0questions when, as a doctoral candidate at the University of Toronto, she taught at the Peel regional\u00a0school district\u2019s summer camp for gifted elementary school students. (Not to speak of what she has\u00a0learned about children\u2019s reasoning abilities from raising three children of her own!) Her continuing\u00a0research into children\u2019s rights led her to attend the Institute for Advancement of Philosophy for Children\u00a0summer program and receive training in the IAPC method of philosophy for children.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone knows that thinking skills give us the tools we need to navigate an often difficult world. Not\u00a0everyone knows that children can start mastering these skills at a young age with activities and projects\u00a0that are age-appropriate, nurturing, creative, and fun.
