If you go to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/cehs\/academics\/centers-and-institutes\/iapc\/\" target=\"_blank\">IAPC website<\/a>, and click on the <em>World of P4C,<\/em>\u00a0you will see that this movement is worldwide, and that VIPC is recognized affiliate.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.naaci-philo.org\/Welcome.html\" target=\"_blank\">The North American Association of the Community of Inquiry\u00a0(NAACI)<\/a> is a North American association that hosts bi-yearly P4C conferences in the US, Canada, or Mexico. It was hosted by VIPC in 2000 and in 2012.\u00a0NAACI sponsors a P4C journal entitled <em>Analytic Teaching and Philosophical Praxis (ATPP)<\/em>.<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/icpic.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">The International Council for Philosophical Inquiry with Children (ICPIC)<\/a> is the international P4C association.\u00a0It also runs a bi-yearly conference (in alternate years to the above). The 2015 ICPIC conference will be hosted by VIPC in partnership with UBC. ICPIC also published a journal entitled <i>Childhood and Philosophy.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/squirefoundation.org\/plato.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Philosophy Learning and Teaching Organization (PLATO<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/squirefoundation.org\/plato.html\" target=\"_blank\">)<\/a>\u00a0is a US P4C organization. If you click on \u201cresources,\u201d and then \u201cpre-college programs,\u201d you will see how many prestigious universities in the US (including Harvard, John Hopkins, Yale, University of Chicago, and Columbia, amongst others) are now involved in the P4C movement.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As examples of a more detailed account of Philosophy for Children see the following:<\/p>\n<p>North America:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/nwcenter\/\" target=\"_blank\">University of Washington\u2019s\u00a0Center for Philosophy for Children<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.teachingchildrenphilosophy.org\/wiki\/Main_Page\" target=\"_blank\">Tom Wartenberg&#8217;s P4C center<\/a><\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n(If you scroll down and click &#8220;watch,&#8221; there is a video to watch.)<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Dr. Wartenberg at Mount Holyoke\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mtholyoke.edu\/acad\/facultyprofiles\/thomas_wartenberg\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas Wartenberg<\/a>\u00a0is a philosophy professor at Mount Holyoke College.\u00a0He has developed the website <a title=\"Teaching Children Philosophy\" href=\"http:\/\/www.teachingchildrenphilosophy.org\/wiki\/Main_Page\" target=\"_blank\">Teaching Children Philosophy<\/a> as part of his research project on philosophy for children. In addition to teaching a course each year for undergraduates on philosophy for children, he has published articles describing his course. He has recently finished a book, <em>Big Ideas for Little Kids<\/em>, that is a guide for teaching philosophy to elementary-school children.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/x5wuHRyHez0?rel=0\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Dr. Sara Goering\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phil.washington.edu\/users\/goering-sara\" target=\"_blank\">Sara Goering<\/a> is\u00a0Program Director for the <a title=\"UW Center for Philosophy for Children\" href=\"http:\/\/depts.washington.edu\/nwcenter\/\" target=\"_blank\">University of Washington Center for Philosophy for Children<\/a>\u00a0in the United States.
